My name is Tom. I started making music when I was around 14 or so. It all began with instruments for me, playing piano and trumpet. I then began making music using Logic. Throughout school my interest in music grew and my interest in jazz starting started to integrate into electronic music. I went on to study Audio Engineering at SAE Institute, and after graduating I started to release my own music under the alias Size 8 and more recently Duncan Thomas. The blend of sound design and music theory was what led me to work with Ableton and and learn how to play live.
My interest in hardware and playing live naturally led me to building my studio which is geared up for being able to integrate hardware into studio productions in the most intuitive way I could think of. I wanted to able to turn new ideas into new music quickly without worrying about latency or technical issues and instead focus on enjoying the process. Now I want to teach people how they can do the same.
